There are around 200 monsters to collect, and you can mix and match them to create new breeds. The idea is that you build up a squad of critters and build up their skills by fighting.

Not only are the graphics unquestionably the best available, but the unprecedented ability it offers to physically interact with the environment will allow us to create entirely new modes of gameplay which up to now we could only dream of implementing.

Funcom will be taking care of operating the servers, providing customer service and generally managing the MMO, and both companies are said to be collaborating on bringing the game to consoles at some point in the not too distant future.

Eurogamer has the word from Leipzig's Games Convention that Funcom is spooling out new information about their newly-released title Age of Conan. Among the most interesting tidbits: concept art for the first AoC expansion should be released later this week. Word is that it has a "strongly oriental look", perhaps hinting at an Eastern-themed context.

If you've not yet reached level 40 in Age of Conan, you could be forgiven for not knowing a single thing about gems or gemcutting. There's no reason why you should; gems don't even drop before level 40. But gems are, right now, one of the most controversial subjects in AoC to date.
